Dr Mary-Jane Yang is a General Practitioner with a clinical focus on psychiatry, addiction medicine and complex mental health. Trained at the University of Melbourne (Bachelor of Biomedicine) and the University of Sydney (Doctor of Medicine), she has worked across acute and chronic mental health settings at Concord Hospital and Broken Hill Hospital in NSW, giving her a grounded, practical understanding of what it takes to support people through difficult and often long-standing health challenges.
Dr MJ is especially comfortable with complexity — whether that's a tangled medication history, a difficult social background or a situation that doesn't fit neatly into a standard treatment pathway. She brings an open, empathetic and non-judgemental approach to every consultation, taking time to understand the full picture before discussing options. She believes strongly in patient education and collaborative decision-making — that people who understand their own care make better decisions and get better outcomes.
Dr MJ sees patients Australia-wide via telehealth and consults in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
Outside the clinic, Dr MJ takes part in a wide-range of hobbies — bouldering, skateboarding, stand-up paddle boarding and dance among them. She is also a hip-hop artist: singer, rapper and producer. It says something true about how she practises medicine — with rhythm, with creativity and with a genuine appreciation for how differently people find their way.
